Tina Louise

Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen loved playing rough sports as a young girl and she excelled at sports. The passion she had for sport was coupled with an equally natural gift for acting. She was awarded nearly every Feis Award for Drama and Theatre Performance that her country had to provide. Her acceptance was at the Abbey Theater by age 14 in which she continued to pursue her passion for classical and opera. Charles Laughton became captivated with Maureen's stunningly beautiful eyes after he saw a screen-test. Laughton altered the name of Maureen's FitzSimons and changed her name from Maureen FitzSimons, to "Maureen O'Hara" it was a diminutive version of her first name. It was just before Laughton decided to use her for Jamaica Inn. In contract with Laughton her next movie was set to be shot within America (The Hunchback of Notre-Dame (1939)) with RKO Pictures. Maureen's contract with Laughton was bought by RKO after this epic movie became a huge big success. Maureen was just 19 years old at the time she was starring alongside Laughton in two of her films.
